Work history

About me

I have spent my career in banking and finance  assisting a diverse range of people in their financial matters and organising loans for them if required. This work and my current voluntary role as witness support in Hendon Magistrates court have given me useful transferrable skills which together with any additional training should enable me to be of benefit to charities.

I am reliable, committed and  organised , a clear thinker with good attention to detail and I  am used to communicating with people at all levels whether they be clients seeking finance or fellow professionals. I have worked  as part of a team and using my own initiative to work independently.

I have also been involved on the recruitment side for my last employer helping recruit team members and training them.

As a  witness support volunteer in court I have supported vulnerable witnesses, some of who may be disabled, have learning difficulties or be children. I show them empathy and help them to address their fears and worries and build trust and confidence. I support them and provide them with practical and emotional support in a non judgemental way, ensuring that I  actively listen and observe well. I always have respect for diversity of others.

I am due to start volunteering with an employment resource charity and as part of the training, I have attended a course on CV writing, gaining employment and networking skills. My 2 sons in their early 20's have both recently got their first full time jobs and advising them as a parent has enabled me to learn more of the current employment market.

I also volunteer teaching computer skills to an elderly Holocaust survivor which requires patience,  clear communication and good interpersonal skills.

Recently I completed a 60km charity trek abroad in a hot climate in rough and steep terrain. This required discipline and perseverance and I raised over £2000 to donate to a charity for sick and vulnerable children.

What am I looking for

I am looking for anything using my existing skills and with the ability to train and learn new ones as well.

I am not interested in retail.
