I have 25 years experience as a Data Analyst / Operations Research Analyst / Data Scientist. I have been responsible for designing experiments for data collection, cleaning the data, mining the data, fitting a model to best fit the data, machine learning given additional data, and post analysis interpretation / investigation to discover any problems with variable collinearity, confounding, outliers, influential points, etc. I have a Master's degree in Biostatistics from Boston University and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Florida.
I have deployed twice to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of US Army military operations where I provided logistical and equipment analysis support to the 401st Army Field Support Brigade, conducted a combat study of the aviator's combat load and equipment, and participated in several helicopter combat missions.
I have authored over 30 technical reports and academic papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals covering topics of aviator combat load, camouflage, anthropometry, combat simulations, deployment waivers, insecticides, weapons systems, chemical/biological protection, and bacterial growth. I have employed a variety of statistical techniques to support the US Army's anthropometric survey to design and size clothing and equipment systems for the US Army. I have twice received the Commander's Award for Civilian Service.
I am interested in offering my vast experience in Data Analysis. Any volunteering roles that include data and a research question will be very interesting to me.
