I have a full time job in London. So I would be available outside office hours. I would be available on some weekends.
I am an ACA qualified auditor who will soon be working at a Big 4 firm. I have experience in auditing charities as well as preparing their accounts.
Part of my role would be the assessment of internal controls and advising where they can be improved. In addition, I am adept at assessing the risks surrounding charities and how to safeguard against them. Crucially, I am able to present accounting issues to "non-finance" members of staff succinctly and with confidence.
I am motivated to commit to charity work because of my own mental health experiences and the desire to help others in need.
I am looking for a trustee role related to finances. I would be willing to commit to around 5-8 hours a month, excluding any board meetings. I would ideally like to work for charity involved in mental health, emergency services, domestic abuse or legal services.
I am keen to use my skills to help a charity safeguard its assets and strengthen its financial position. From a personal point of view, it is a great opportunity to give back via the skills that I have gained so far during my accounting career.
