About me

I have spent my working life as an HR/OD Director/Consultant , latterly as as interim manager helping organisations ( in may sectors) through change. I am always looking to support organisational effectiveness, the people involved in decision making and those also affected by change.

My professional life has required me to ensure that I develop effective relationships and that I manage these with sensitivity to personalties, cultures and styles. I am a team and collaborative player.

I have previously volunteered as a School Governor ( and Chair) , having been appointed by the London Borough of Brent. I joined the primary school of 600 pupils as the new head started and two schools merged. I enjoyed the involvement with the Head, his teachers and understanding the vision for the school. I love to be involved  where the development of people is key.

I also spent 9 years with the national centre of circus arts, a charity and leading provider of Circus education. The national centre is part of the conservatoire of dance and drama and again I was working with an organisation whose business was developing talent. 

I have used my professional knowledge, managerial and leadership capabilities, my insight and organisational skills to help people and organisations reach their individual and collective goals. 

My professional and volunteering activities have also involved a focus on governance.

What am I looking for

As an HR professional I enjoy working to support the development of people.I have enjoyed working in arts and charities and have experience in the health sector and in education.

I would welcome working with committees and boards. I am used to supporting from a professional and strategic perspective and for the maintenance of good governance. I have frequently acted as a critical friend to other professionals and chief execs.

I will consider a range of volunteering roles , although would welcome and would bring benefit to the organisations concerned if I am able to utilise my experience and talents as described.
