About me

Thank you for taking an interest in me and reading this profile. After recently taking voluntary redundancy from the commercial sector I am now keen to use my business management skills to contribute towards a charitable or NFP organisation whose focus is on making our world a better place.

A large part of my experience to date has been in Information Technology where I have worked in a range of strategic, leadership, consulting, training, mentoring and project management roles. I have considerable experience of leading consultancy teams engaged in problem solving and delivering IT solutions designed to offer enhanced productivity or improved competitive advantage. I have also founded two start-up businesses where I have gained valuable experience and understand the challenges of how to grow a business in a complex competitive landscape.

I have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a wide range of practical skills.

I have a strong desire to contribute to worthy social causes & projects and have thirty years of voluntary experience. My first voluntary role was in community football after which I trained as a qualified football coach and then I trained to become a qualified cricket coach.  More recently I have led the local cricket club as Chairperson to modernise its administration and commercial activities through the adoption of a range of cloud based IT services including a website, social media and security surveillance. I have also been instrumental in forming an enterprising relationship with White Lodge Centre Charity and led fund raising marketing campaigns to promote and deliver a Family Fun Day for 500 people in 2014, the inaugural Walton-on-Thames Beer, Wine & Music Festival in June 2015 and follow up event in 2016 attended by 500 people.

What am I looking for

Ideally, I would like to work with a small to medium sized charity. Apart from that, I am open minded about the type of charity and the role and therefore willing to cosider most opportuninities.
