Availability out of office hours for written content (copywriting etc).
With over 5 years' experience working for charity and cultural heritage organisations including the British Council, I have gained and developed excellent communication skills, with a particular aptitude for web content creation and analysis, while co-ordinating projects to a high standard of delivery, in the fields of project administration, promotion and co-ordination. I would like to use my experience in a voluntary capacity for causes I care about.
I have vital communications experience, having set up and managed the British Council English My Way Twitter account, which grew an audience of 2500 followers during my employment. Additionally, I have excellent creative writing skills, which I employed when I wrote blog posts for the British Council Voices blog, to promote English My Way. It
received over 5000 views (link:https://www.britishcouncil.org/voices-magazine/how-build-confidence-amon... ) and also worked closely with colleagues at the Department for Communities and Local Government to create new and original content for their Learn English blog, by attending English My Way training events and lessons across the country, listening to the learners' and tutors' experiences and creating written content to document their progress and responses to the course. This had the effect of raising the profile of English My Way to a wider and more diverse audience, and I was able to monitor how many new users there were to the website and other factors by using Google Analytics.
I also attended a Chartered Institute of Marketing Digital Marketing Masterclass while employed by the British Council, which taught us how various channels and methods could be gainfully employed to promote British Council products and projects, and the principles of direct marketing.
During my role at the Association of British Orchestras, I supported delivery of industry masterclasses in Digital Marketing and Fundraising, and was responsible for creating email campaigns and marketing copy to promote the masterclasses and the Association's Annual Conference - the biggest event in the Classical Music Industry.
Highly IT literate in Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, I also use my numeracy skills to analyse trends and campaign results. In my British Council Centre of Excellence Role, this meant gathering statistical data from the intranet and sharepoint to deduce which tools colleagues were using most, for our campaign to raise awareness about the Centre of Excellence.
I am looking for trustee roles for causes I am passionate about: women’s' rights; refugee/migrant causes; international development.
