Passionate about working with others to build their capacity and deliver impact, I am looking to support a small, growing organisation as trustee.
Over the past decade, I have been lucky to build a range of experience. This began in the private sector, where I joined an investment bank graduate scheme and worked in technology and governance roles. After a trip to Africa, I decided to leave my job to pursue a more meaningful career where I could spend my energy helping those who need it.
Three years ago, I joined PEAS - an award-winning NGO that builds and runs secondary schools in Africa. With roles in fundraising and operations, I have been able to adapt to the third sector and learn first-hand how a lean organisation can be run successfully. I have also learnt about the importance of building capacity within our communities, rather than dependence on international aid, for long-term success.
I am looking to support a values-aligned organisation achieve their goals and continue building my own skills from the perspective of trustee. I have seen how valuable an effective trustee can be and know there are many ambitious organisations out there that could benefit from additional support.
Relevant experiences include growing partnerships, budgets and fund accounts, delivering technology and regulatory projects, organising trips and events, designing tools, coaching, communications and designing websites.
I am looking to support a small, growing organisation with ambitious goals and a capable team. Given my experience at PEAS I am looking for international development charities operating in Sub-Saharan Africa, or I would be happy to learn about other regions. Education, technology, gender and construction are particular areas of interest, as well as food and environmental organisations.
I am comfortable with remote working or travelling into London for meetings. As well as joining for regular trustee meetings, I would be happy to support an employee more directly with a project related to my experience.
