My availability is 2 hours per week outside working hours, in the evenings or at weekends.
I offer a background as a director, working with Boards and with strengths in governance, strategy and directing programme. I have over 25 years’ experience gained within public services, mainly across health and care systems. I have a track record in developing individuals and teams operationally, supporting cultural change. I promote an evidence-based approach and seek best practice to drive improvement, using performance data.
I bring relevant leadership experience, strategic and operational. I am able to take an independent perspective and work in collaboration with others inside and beyond any one organisation. I am adaptable, enjoy learning and can move across sectors.
I value customer, public as well as staff participation and the insight this brings to organisational purpose and focus, making accountability real. I have led teams promoting the user voice and championing widened participation. I champion diversity, equality and inclusion.
In numerous situations I have been asked to act as a critical friend in assessing practices and perspectives. I am capable of shifting settings and looking at systems from a variety of different viewpoints. I see collaboration as key to organisational development for strategic success.
I have prior experience as a Trustee and Governor. I’m an affiliated member of ICSA, the governance institute.
I am looking to sit on the Board of a medium to large size organisation, London-based or amenable to remote working.
I'm interested in Boards which value independence, support and challenge.
My interests span public benefit services, education, training and employment, arts and culture, and the environment.
I enjoy working with other Board members, staff and teams, transforming services and mentoring individuals. I seek to extend my skills in Board-level governance, strategic oversight, financial control, and innovation.
