About me

Education: MA (Materials Science), Ph.D. (Appropriate Technology for the Third World), M.Sc. (Artificial Intelligence).

Worked in Mozambique and in an Appropriate Technology centre in Kenya, on expert systems in Aston University, and for 8 years are a lecturer in Information Systems at Queen's University Management School.

Wrote proposals for and ran 6 international research projects, worth €3 M, on electronic democracy, public participation, and online planning portals. Evaluated Irish Parliament's e-consultation pilot, measured critical thinking in face-to-face and on-line  learning, and supervised a student studying how Bangladeshi farmers appropriated mobile phones into their lives. Developed and tested a computer game to teach decision-makers how to judge their uncertainty.

What am I looking for

Anything interesting, now that I have taken early retirement.
