Work history

About me

Currently, I work as a service coordinator for International Family Tracing (IFT) at the British Red Cross (BRC), where I manage volunteers, provide support to asylum seekers, and assess safeguarding situations. I also assist people in their search for missing family members, which involves managing their expectations and delivering outcomes. In this role, I deal with the emotional toll of ambiguous loss that people experience when their family is missing. Through my work, I have gained experience in dealing with people in distressing and uncertain situations.

Additionally, I have experience as a young refugee caseworker for the Young Refugee Service at the British Red Cross. In this role, I supported young people through difficult times and helped them navigate through various governmental and local systems in the UK. I also advocated for them in legal, health, and educational matters.

In my volunteering role as treasurer for the Human Rights society, I kept track of our meeting minutes and drafted proposals for the meetings. As a communications officer for the Animal Protection Project, I planned weekly activity posts to increase the visitor flow to our page and created a strategy to encourage more volunteers to join our project. These weekly activities included trending news and information relating to our cause as well as international events that were taking place at the time.

What am I looking for

I am looking for positions where I get to either aid or advocate for refugees, children, women, and human rights. I would like to gain new knowledge in this field, something that would be different to my current work. I would like to combine the skills form my existing knowledge in the field with the new ones I would gain. I am also fascinated by the cooperation between different organisations as well as the bigger picture that they play in supporting human rights.

I would be also interested to volunteer in animal welfare as that's a personal passion of mine too.
