I have operational and strategic HR experience and generalist background with knowledge of UK employment law and held various HR roles with a wide range of responsibilities working in private and non-for-profit organizations. I have knowledge of HR practices including: successful recruitment, onboarding and offboarding employee relations,on–going in-work training and development. Most recently I was responsible for establishing HR function and improved employer branding in the UK HQ and African branch, coaching senior leaders and managers.
I volunteered my time and shared my knowledge in order to continuously develop myself and help others along the way, for instance: I signed up for the CIPD Skill UP Programme. HR professionals and small charities worked together on HR issues/challenges they were be facing. I found it very fulfilling and that, in turn, expanded my knowledge on coaching and mentoring, both of which are of utmost importance.
Currently, I attend a Mental Health First Aid and Advocacy in the Workplace course. It will equip me with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to effectively support employee mental well-being and become more effective HR professional.Having attended additional courses on subjects of assertiveness skills, self-compassion, and mindfulness not only enriched me on a personal level but most definitely made me a better People Professional.
