About me

I have experience working/volunteering in various charities including experience in:

  • Delivering and managing support to beneficiaries
  • Managing teams
  • Fundraising from trusts and foundations and statutory bodies
  • Governance
  • Financial management
  • Project planning

I am passionate about ensuring charities are well led and well managed to ensure they can provide the best service possible to those they serve and remove barriers that stop the most disadvantaged accessing support.

I have experience as an employee sitting on board and sub-committee and have volunteered as an Executive Director of a small charity for which I was also a trustee.

As a trustee I was involved in making the difficult decision to close the charity after spending out the reserves through grant making. This was a challenging process requiring sensitivity and a strong understanding of charity governance.

I have worked and volunteered in charities supporting clients in the following areas:

  • Sexual violence
  • Domestic violence
  • Mental health
  • Alcohol use
  • Asylum and refugees

I am currently completing an MSc in Voluntary Sector Management giving me an in-depth understanding of the voluntary sector, the challenges facing it and approaches to improving charity governance.

What am I looking for

I am looking for a new trustee role in a charity making a difference to the most disadvantaged in society.
