Objectives

We are a small core group of volunteers campaigning to get the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill (CEE Bill) passed into UK law. This will ensure that the UK helps keep global heating to 1.5C and restores damage the environment at home and abroad. The CEE Bill also calls for a citizens' assembly to work with Government and Parliament in creating the strategy needed. Since it was tabled in Parliament on 2 September 2020, the CEE Bill has been backed by over 120 MPs from seven different political parties. It's also supported by businesses, charities and NGOs including Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and The Wildlife Trusts. Crucially, the CEE Bill campaign—Zero Hour—is powered by thousands of grassroots campaigners across the UK nations.

Activities

Our team of passionate campaigners work at three levels: we engage with MPs, Peers and councillors to gain their support for the CEE Bill and its contents in Westminster; we build alliances with organisations and businesses from across the whole of UK society; and we mobilise and support local campaigners around the UK.
