Objectives

The Rendezvous provides young people (13-25) facing disadvantage in the Sherborne area with the tools they need to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. As the only organisation of our kind in this area and being on the edge of the county where few regional/national services venture we have developed a wide range of services focussing on the gaps in provision. With a strong focus on mental health and emotional wellbeing our full offer includes:  one to one mental health support, nurture groups, English and Maths tuition, help into work and college, young parents support programmes and a series of outreach and activity programmes.

Activities

  • Mental health and wellbeing support to help young people manage anxiety and their mental health and wellbeing through one to one sessions delivered in our centre in Sherborne or in local schools as well as targeted small group work
  • English and Maths learning opportunities to gain Level 2 nationally accredited qualifications to get back into school, find employment, apprenticeships or go to college
  • Young Parents support services which includes advice and information around benefits, housing, relationships and group work to tackle isolation and develop friendships and peer support opportunities
  • Gateway projects such as outreach or targeted group activities (ranging from cooking projects to community film-making) to build relationships and keep those at risk engaged whilst encouraging access to further support
