Youth Realities is a youth-led organisation addressing teenage relationship abuse, while supporting young people to be happier, healthier and more resilient.
Our aims are to:
We are on a mission to educate, empower and stimulate the development of young people through prevention, intervention and survivor-focused healing programmes.
Youth Realities works to prevent abuse by providing an educational healthy relationship workshop, Reflective Arts, in schools and communities. Reflective Arts is focused on helping young people identify abuse, access support and feel more confident in making healthy choices. These workshops are led by our team of Youth Facilitators, aged 16 - 25, trained by our staff and then provided paid opportunities to deliver the work and enhance their personal development.
We also run Deepin Dance, a weekly dance and confidence programme for young women aged 12 - 25, which engages the members in fun, non-competitive fitness, as well as a range of educational and empowering wellbeing workshops. The programme is led by a team of trained Youth Support Workers and the young women can also access advice, guidance and emotional support within the space.
For those more at-risk or experiencing adversity, our trained Youth Support Workers offer regular 1:1 emotional support. This is provided in a safe space, such as in school, the local community or the Youth Realities' office. This work is focused on meeting needs, building resilience, reducing risk of harm and providing advocacy.
