Youth Options believes that every child and young person can achieve a better future, whatever their life circumstances.
We support children and young people, particularly those who need it most, to engage, develop and become empowered to achieve a better future.
We have three key objectives:
We engage with over 4000 children and young people a year.
In all of our work, we focus on programmes and activities that enable children and young people to follow a Progression Pathway. Our goal is to equip children and young people with skills and knowledge and provide opportunities where they are able to take personal responsibility for their future.
We run pre-schools, youth centres and street-based youth work, engaging young people through participation and building connections with others.
We provide targeted opportunities through key work, group activities and residentials to develop skills, well-being, resilience and self-awareness. This includes at our outdoor learning centres where children and young people can connect with nature, learning bush craft, cooking on campfires and hedge laying whilst developing confidence, well-being and self-esteem. We work with a range of children and young people including those who are, or have been, in the care system; children who have faced adverse childhood experience, those with additional needs.
We welcome interest from volunteers who can help us deliver these activities, particularly in our pre-school and youth centres and also those who may be interested in helping out on our community events and fundraising.
