Geographical remit:

We are inclusive, diverse and believe in equality – it’s in our name!

We encourage friendship and harmony amongst people of all cultures and make our events inclusive for everyone to attend and we aim to include all communities and we stand up to discrimination and race hate. We provide individuals with free information and advice; and find ways for minority ethnic voices to be heard by those who run local services.

Our programmes and events are developed jointly with our members. We listen to their lived experiences and concerns at our Open Forums, which inform our advocacy and policy work.

As a local charity, we are always keen to hear from people who want to volunteer their time and skills, or to help fund our work.

We are the main point of contact for organisations and individuals in York requiring support, advice or information with issues affecting the BME community.

We also go into the community through a variety of outreach projects which have the dual aim of bringing communities together and providing access to our services in different locations around the city.
