Objectives

We support unpaid carers, of all ages who live in the city of York.

Our approach is to deliver and maintain early intervention and prevention services that help struggling unpaid carers to look after themselves and prevent carer and whole family breakdown.

We provide access to a range of information, advice on all issues affecting carers including breaks, respite and support services, carer assessments; referrals to statutory and other agencies; financial and benefits entitlement advice; regular newsletter and e-bulletins; Carers Emergency Card alongside emotional and practical help.

Activities

York Carers Centre aims to support carers of all ages throughout York. The centre supports 3 services:  Adult Carer; Young Adult Carer and Young Carer services.

The centre houses an accessible information, advice and support centre alongside skilled staff and volunteers who work on outreach at various venues.
