Objectives

YMCA Port Talbot is a charitable organisation that has been very much at the heart of our community since it was formed in 1898.  The work we carry out has changed considerably over the years, but our aims remain the same: to provide a safe and stable environment, with excellent facilities, and to offer a wide range of youth and adult activities and services that can be accessed by the local population.

Activities

At YMCA Port Talbot we are passionate about supporting young people in our community to build healthy, happy, fulfilled, and purposeful futures. We are committed to helping people in times of need and we have developed a strong working relationships with many other local agencies and institutions to improve the lives of these people.  The next exciting phase of our development will be the opening of the New Plaza in October 2021 which will see a welfare and fitness hub opening for the people of Port Talbot and surrounding area. The Plaza will also have business pods, a multi-use theatre space and exercise classes.

We offer accommodation to homeless young men aged 16 -35 which we have done for over 40 years, and many hundreds have passed through our doors.
