Objectives

YMCA Lincolnshire enables people to develop their full potential in mind, body and spirit. Inspired by, and faithful to, our Christian values, we create supportive, inclusive and energising communities, where people can truly belong, contribute and thrive.

We work across Lincolnshire to support people of all ages with a range of challenges, including homelessness, loneliness and youth activities.

We are keen to attract people with expertise and lived experience of the challenges we work to overcome in Lincolnshire.

Trustees will have a choice of involvement with the charity, in order for us to have a balanced Board. All Trustees are expected to attend quarterly Trustees' meetings to help us leverage their expertise in, and lived experience of the challenges we work to overcome.

Desirable expertise and/or lived experience includes, but is not limited to:

  • Charity
  • Housing support
  • Homelessness
  • Youth work
  • Childcare
  • Providing support for older people

As a Trustee, you will have the opportunity to meet new people and be part of a diverse team. You can help us make a positive difference to the lives of people from all backgrounds across Lincolnshire, enabling them to develop their full potential in mind, body and spirit.

  • Our Trustees need to be passionate about YMCA Lincolnshire's work with the Lincolnshire youth, older people and those experiencing homelessness.
  • They must be prepared to use their relevant expertise and lived experience to inform and benefit our work around Lincolnshire.
  • They must enjoy working with a range of people, from fellow Trustees to members of the YMCA Lincolnshire team and those in communities we work with.
  • Trustees must be friendly, approachable, reliable, patient and accepting of others who might be different from themselves.
  • Trustees must be prepared to attend quarterly Board meetings at The Showroom, Lincoln, or additional meetings as required.
  • We aim to recruit and retain great people from a wide variety of backgrounds.

YMCA Lincolnshire is working to rebuild and expand at all levels. We are seeking motivated, talented people from all backgrounds to help us shape the future of a historic, influential charity.

By joining our Board of Trustees you will join a group of people who are committed to the health and growth of YMCA Lincolnshire, helping us to provide valuable support to a wide array of people in Lincolnshire.
