Objectives

YES provides a confidential, non-judgemental and informal service for young people between the ages of 0-25 across North-East Essex.

We provide a variety of services that work closely with each other, including housing and homeless support, mental health counselling, family mediation and teenage pregnancy support.

Activities

We provide many flagship services at YES, including:

  • Mental health counselling
  • School navigation
  • 1-on-1 volunteer mentorship scheme
  • GoGreen Project- an outdoor allotment space for young people to work together and learn about sustainability
  • Family mediation
  • Teen Pregnancy Support
  • Homeless and Housing Support

We achieve this with:

  • SLICE vouchers- a collaboration with a local café to give hot food to young people
  • Drop-in sessions for young people in local schools to engage with our services and discuss mental health
  • Walk-in wardrobe for homeless and trans young people, with donated clothes and toiletries available for those that need it
  • Drop-in and third-party sessions with partner organisations
  • Teaching valuable lifeskills through our volunteer mentors, such as cooking or engaging with a special interest of the young person
  • Foodbank vouchers provided
  • Group sessions for expectant and new teen parents
  • Supervised gardening with GoGreen
