WyvernRail plc - The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway
Our objectives
The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway is a heritage railway on the southern edge of the Peak District. Nine miles in length, the railway operates steam and diesel trains aimed at the family and enthusiast market. However, it is far more than a giant trainset. The EVR has become a community of all ages, slikks and interests who work together to maintain and restore the line, its environment, its trains and buildings. Young volunteers have built skills that have teken them into careers in the broader rail industry, while our mature volunteers work in a safe and welcoming environment with plenty of opportunities for fresh air and varying degrees of physical exercise. At our stations, there are similar roles for those who prefer indoor work that are public-facing or simple in the background.
