Objectives

WRAS is committed to Rescuing, Caring and Rehabilitating injured wildlife across East Sussex.

WRAS provides quality care as swiftly, safely and humanely as possible to relieve the suffering and to restore the health of wildlife so the they can be released back into their natural habitat.

Activities

Initially WRAS was an ambulance service acting on behalf of other organisations and individuals. In 2007 we set up the hospital facility which is run ethically and in line with our aim to give wildlife the best opportunity to survive. WRAS covers a large area and works with 11 different veterinary practices.

WRAS has five veterinary ambulances in circulation servicing Uckfield, Whitesmith and Eastbourne. In addition, outdoor aviaries and pens are located in supporter and volunteer gardens throughout East Sussex and WRAS has a charity shop in Eastbourne.

The Casualty Care Centre is registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and three vets assist with overseeing the casualties WRAS cares for and the procedures it follows.
