Education is key to ending poverty and every child deserves equal access to learning. World Villages for Children supports the Sisters of Mary to run live-in schools providing care and a quality education for the most deprived boys and girls across the world.
We reach out to children who are orphans or from the very poorest and disadvantaged families in the communities and neighbourhoods of the Philippines, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, Honduras and Tanzania to provide them with a place at school and accredited academic and vocational education which equips them for employment and a productive, poverty free life.
We focus on raising funds and providing support for the Sisters’ work, engaging with the donors who make our work possible, measuring and reporting impact, and helping to develop and monitor safeguarding policy and implementation. It’s a warm and profoundly collaborative partnership based on mutual trust and respect that has worked well since 1998 and has so far led to over 170,000 of the world's poorest children receiving lifechanging care and the education they need to escape their lives of poverty.
