Objectives

We are the British Jewish community’s international humanitarian agency. Inspired by Jewish values, we empower people in poverty to live with dignity, self-reliance and hope. We support the world’s poorest Jewish communities, predominantly in Eastern Europe, because kol arayvim zeh la’zeh – all Jews are responsible for one another. We work beyond our community, inspired by the Jewish values of caring for the stranger and recognising the dignity and potential of all people.

Activities

Creating Opportunities

We give people the chance to support their families by helping them to find work, earn an income, become self-reliant and escape poverty.

Supporting Older People

We support ageing populations who have lived through the Holocaust and communism, meeting their emotional and physical needs.

Responding To Emergencies

With Britain’s Jewish community behind us, we respond to major disasters, providing emergency relief and longer-term recovery efforts.
