Woolwich Creative District Trust, the independent registered charity established to run Woolwich Works, also has a commitment to community access, engagement and participation, providing facilities to improve the conditions of life of residents of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Our Charitable Objectives determine the purpose of the Trust, which informs our overall mission: to offer hope and opportunity by enabling people to realise their creative potential.

Woolwich Works stands on a site within the Royal Arsenal that's rich with history and stories passed down through generations. Find out more about our building and community within the Woolwich Works Gazette.

We’re building an exceptional, professional, inclusive, creative community, with a diverse team, a diverse programme of performances and events, and a diverse engagement programme. We will actively work to attract diverse audiences and visitors from across our Borough and beyond.

Woolwich Creative District Trust is an independent registered charity, established to run Woolwich Works for the purposes of advancing art for the public benefit and providing facilities to improve the conditions of life of residents of the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Woolwich Works opened in September 2021 as a new landmark cultural hub within the historic setting of Royal Arsenal Riverside.

Our buildings include a large performance space, medium sized show spaces and dance studios, plus smaller spaces for functions. We also have an outdoor courtyard area and a newly revamped café that transforms into an intimate evening show space.

Our spaces are used for a wide variety of purposes, from tech conferences with breakout rooms, to birthday parties and weddings, through to hosting community social forums, NHS blood donation and even the local polling station!

Woolwich Works presents a diverse range of cabaret, comedy, live music, exhibitions, theatre and dance. We programme a yearly live music and comedy festival, Woolwich Words & Sounds, have a summer beach bar in our courtyard and host a successful comedy showcase, Live at the Works.

We have a number of Resident Artistic Companies, including the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, dance company Luca Silvestrini’s Protein and classical orchestra Chineke! Our buildings also host immersive theatre company Punchdrunk and every year we present Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair.
