Objectives

We help all women to achieve mental and physical wellbeing.  We believe that mental health can be achieved in a number of ways, and so we offer a menu of different services for women, all with the aim of increasing their health and confidence.  Women's ability to access these services should not be determined by their income.  We work with all women, but over 65% of our service users are on some form of benefit.  We are very experienced at working with BAMER women, in our centre, in outreach and at our Saturday Club for refugees and asylum seekers.  We fill a demand that the NHS cannot meet.  72% of those coming for counselling with us are on an NHS waiting list.  Our Listening Ear services sees women immediately, and has supported women who otherwise would use NHS emergency services, or take their own lives.

Activities

We offer free counselling, solution focussed therapy, Listening Ear sessions, and a number of courses related to wellbeing (Stressbusters, Women's Health in Hard Times).  We also host free exercise and meditation classes, free reading and craft groups, and confidence building courses.  We offer complementary therapies at a reasonable price, and at our Saturday Club they are free.  We run a popular outreach programme through the year, and maintain strong links with community organisations in both North and South Liverpool.
