Objectives

Women in Banking and Finance is a social enterprise membership organisation with branches in London, Belfast, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester staffed primarily by volunteers with a small paid virtual-team. Founded in 1980, our vision is a financial services sector which offers women equal opportunities as employees, customers, and entrepreneurs to reach their full potential and to contribute to building better businesses and places to work for all. We do this by bringing a gender lens to the UK Financial Services by connecting, challenging, and inspiring our network to unlock the full potential of financial services for all.

Our values: volunteering, independence, inspiring, action-orientation

  • Thought leadership: to provide actionable recommendations and affect policy change to better retain and promote women in the financial services workforce
  • Communities: to learn, share and discuss best practice in areas across financial services to meet our vision
  • Job boards: to help organisations and candidates explore career opportunities in an environment supported by the ethos of WIBF and its research
