Women and Children First is an international development organisation which addresses poor reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health. The charity provides technical support and assistance to local partners to deliver a World Health Organisation recommended approach which mobilises communities through women's groups and has a proven impact on maternal and newborn mortality rates.
We work internationally to promote reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, wherever inequalities exist. We work with partners to implement programmes that include three linked components: mobilising communities through women’s groups; strengthening health systems; and advocating for change. We are the world leader in mobilising communities through women’s groups to improve mother and child survival and provide technical advice on this methodology. This approach has been proven to reduce maternal mortality by 49% and newborn mortality by 33% and is recommended by the World Health organisation.
