Wisbech and Fenland Museum is one of the oldest purpose-built museums in the country and began with the formation of the Wisbech Museum Society in 1835. The Museum opened the doors of its present grade II* listed building in 1847
The Museum is open to the public five days a week and there is a programme of regular events and activities including lifelong learning and schools' workshops, enquiry and object identification, photograph archive and reproduction, guided tours, and a family history research centre.
