Winchester Mediation Service is a local charity formed in 2001 to provide a Neighbourhood Mediation Service to the residents in the area covered by Winchester City Council. The Service is free to the residents of the area. A team of volunteer trained Mediators carries out mediation. Several are also trained in Workplace Mediation.
Since its conception the Service has been proactive. It has established a Service Level Agreement with the Landlord Services Department of Winchester City Council to provide a Mediation and Assessment Service for its tenants and is working to develop its relationship with the Police and local Housing Associations. It continually strives to make the public aware of the service it offers.
We are looking for trustees who want to make an active contribution to developing the charity. We would welcome IT skills to help us to develop our new website and ensure it is fit for purpose. Trustees with other skills and experience – such as funding applications – would be welcomed. We can offer a wide range of experience from policy writing and implementation, mediator recruitment and training, to liaising with our referring organizations.
To acknowledge the Service’s expanding role, over the next few months, we are planning to incorporate.
• Neighbourhood Mediation
• Assesment Service for Winchester City Council
• Workplace mediation
