Objectives

We were the first community run Castle in England.  There is a Norman Castle, various ruins with a moat set in 12 acres.  Our activities include education and interpretation, weddings, food and catering, events.  We have recently increased our PR, marketing and engagement significantly.  Our beneficiaries include the local community, schools and those interested in history and ecology or just being able to walk in a safe environment.  We are regarded as the hub of our community.  The Castle is much loved.

Activities

We use our trading arms to support activities for schools and others interested in history.  We also run events at no cost for the community eg at Christmas and Halloween.  We are able to maintain free entry to the Castle 365 days a year.  Visitors only pay to park, unless they are members of the Castle.
