Geographical remit:

Our aim is to provide a range of exciting watersports and land-based learning  that engage and challenge disadvantaged young people, helping them to increase soft skills and confidence in their abilities to achieve, lead, and succeed.  We provide direct support to 3,200 young people each year.

We are the only non-commercial all tidal, pontoon in central London. We have a comprehensive fleet of boats and our riverfront centre extends over the River Thames with floor-to-ceiling windowed rooms and spectacular views across London.  With an adjoining tree-lined park, this unique setting makes disadvantaged young people feel valued, whilst affording a safe environment for exhilarating development experiences. Services are free or nominal cost. We are an accredited Training Centre, accredited by the Royal Yachting Association and British Canoeing Organisations, with Club Mark, AALA and London Youth recognition.

We have been operating for 40 years in the community, and have in-depth knowledge of engaging young people on the extreme margins of society in Westminster, supporting their learning and development.  We support young people like Jamal, aged 10.  Jamal has ADHD, his parents are reclusive and despite our attempts we have been unable to engage and help them to integrate. They speak little English and are not in education, training or employment and Jamal and his two younger sisters live in poverty. Outside of school Jamal was often seen with his sister running around the estate late at night and he was referred to us by his school.

We provide kayaking, power boating, sailing activities.  We also provide workshops in navigating, seamanship and help young people achieve qualifications in Watersports. We have a team of highly experienced Watersports instructors and volunteers.
