West Lothian Credit Union (WLCU) opened for business in November 1998 as a not-for-profit financial co-operative providing an effective and viable alternative to for-profit financial institutions and also providing a safe place to save money and access affordable loans. Anyone who lives or works in the following postcode areas of East Central Scotland can join WLCU and become a member and enjoy the benefits of saving and borrowing - EH, FK, TD, KY, ML7, G63, G65 & G66. We offer competitive loans, savings and other products to the whole community. WLCU is here for the whole community not just those who can afford to shop around.
West Lothian Credit Union (WLCU) offers savings and loan products to help members save or borrow for that holiday, car or emergency such as car repair or washing machine replacement. Members can save or make their loan repayments via standing order, debit card payments, DWP Benefits or through payroll savings schemes with local employers. Funds are allocated to members' loans and savings accounts on receipt.
We are not a bank. We will look sympathetically on any loan application made by a member and will try everything we can to accommodate. We work with our members to increase and instil a habit of thrift.
