Objectives

The West of England Rural Network is a charity established to provide an expert specialist resource in the rural parts of South Gloucestershire, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset and Bristol (known as the West of England).

We work with communities, businesses, social enterprises, organisations and individuals to support and encourage community-led action and to increase the long-term sustainability of local community life.

Activities

We have experience in a wide range of topics that impact on rural life such as broadband, access to services, transport, wellbeing, affordable housing, fuel poverty, village halls & community assets, health & social care, funding advice and community led planning.

In general we work with communities to find and create their own solutions but we also work with isolated rural people through our Village Agent service. This project helps to support people to live fuller lives in their own communities and increases their wellbeing.

We also work with partners to manage programmes that encourage economic activity such as LEADER and other European Union funded work streams.
