WCCU provides safe and affordable financial services to all members of the local community and particularly to those who are unable to access main stream products. We help members to save and offer small loans on fair terms. This matters to those who would otherwise be excluded.
We are a local financial co-operative run and controlled by our members who share the common bond of either living, working studying or volunteering within Cheshire. The business is run by 7 part time staff members and a full time manager. They ensure that our members and their money is looked after and that all business is conducted in accordance with the rules and guidelines set out by the authorities.
Although we are a small credit union, we have over 3500 members and are growing. We have so far lent out over £1.5 million to local people.
Volunteers help in a variety of roles, including trustees and directors, internal supervisors, loans officers and customer service staff.
