Wessex Resolutions' mission is to improve the quality of people's lives through the provision of high quality, accessible, responsible financial inclusion services which tackle issues of financial exclusion and isolation, building financial capability and resilience within the communities we serve. The way in which we do this will continue to evolve as we develop, improve and expand our services.
Our lending services are designed to support vulnerable people who own their own home but have insufficient resources to address 'decent home standards' that can affect the quality of their lives. Our partnership with councils provides the capital which allows us to lend in a bespoke way to the people who qualify for support under their policies.
Our Local Welfare Assistance and Money Advice Services are often, though not always, delivered in partnership with other organisations. We operate on a 'not for proft' basis and prioritise the needs of clients, seeking as far as possible to bring a wholistic approach so that the fundamental challenges which the clients wish to address are dealt with effectively.
The vulnerability of our client base can sometimes be very significant and we pride ourselves in providing a bespoke service to those who may be unable to access the services of other providers. We often signpost clients to other providers if specialist help is needed in certain areas.
We have recently completed a 'social impact assessment' report, charting the value of the positive impact we've been able to make on behalf of our clients in 2016. This is available to view on our website. Last year, we provided nearly £1million worth of subsidised loans to people living in poor housing conditions and assisted more than 500 people who accessed our LWA and money advice services.
