The mission of Weldmar Hospicecare is:
Weldmar Hospicecare strongly believes in the holistic support of patients with terminal disease and their families, building services around patients’ individual needs and desires, and aiming to provide equity of access to services for all adults in Dorset.
We aim to be an active and constructive partner in the health and social care community in Dorset.
We aspire to provide excellent working conditions and development opportunities for our staff and volunteers.
We strive to be transparent in our workings and accessible to all who wish to be involved with us, as patients and their families, staff, volunteers or supporters.
We have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aims and objectives and in planning our future activities.
Our services are provided free of charge.
Weldmar Hospicecare is a charity for people with a life-limiting illness living in Dorset. Our compassionate approach supports patients and their families, medically and in other ways, in the community, in the hospice and at home. All our care is free and reliant on public donations.
Although we do receive some funding from the NHS, without the support of our local community, we wouldn’t be here. 75% of the funding we need to offer our services comes from people like you.
We are the only agency providing specialist palliative care in north, south and west Dorset.
