Objectives

The Weekend Day Centre for Dementia Care has been in operation since December 1991, achieving Registered Charity status in 1993, and we provide an informal day care service five days a week, for people with dementia and their carer, who reside within the boundaries of Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.

Our main objectives are:

To provide a service that is otherwise not available within our target area.

To ensure adequate funding for the provision of our service.

To provide an informal social environment in which people with dementia feel they are supported and maintain their social skills.

To offer support to the carers of clients attending the Weekend Day Centre.

Activities

Offering an environment in which support staff are responsive to the needs of clients, and their carer, offering both individual and group support.

Providing an environment where clients and carers can spend a tranquil and enjoyable day.

Treating both clients and carers as individuals and giving the utmost of respect.
