Healing Together
is a 6-week Programme originally written for children and young who are no longer living with the abusive adult. The aim is ‘to know how your body and brain can work together to bring you to more calmness and focus when you need and want it’. We deliver the programme with mothers so that they can support their child’s healing alongside their own. Mothers can use the handouts and exercises with themselves but also their children.

This programme is unique in its approach as it combines trauma informed principles with:

Relational approaches,  Neuroscience and Attachment models. Reliable and valid outcome measures are used pre- and post- intervention to measure the impact of the programme.

OWN MY LIFE is an innovative, creative and educational 12-week course. It supports women in regaining ownership of their lives when they have subjected to abuse or violence by partner.  This is done through short videos, structured discussions, group and individual activities, and a comprehensive learning journal.

It uses multimedia content to explain complex concepts about trauma and abuse in easy-to-understand video clips, along with videos which evidence how popular culture reinforces or perpetuates sexism, rape culture, violence, misogyny, disrespect in relationships and abusive behaviour.  The Own My Story Journal provides women with space for reflective practice and includes all the information provided throughout the course.  This becomes an ongoing resource for women after the course has finished.  The course explores how women can regain ownership of our lives; each session covers owning our:

Mind, Body, Choices, Relationships, World and Feelings.

Aims

  1. To educate and empower women who have been subjected to abuse to regain ownership of their own lives.
  2. To equip and resource women with the most up to date research and understanding about trauma and male violence.
  3. Men's abuse and violence towards women is rooted in their beliefs of ownership and entitlement.  The course is called the Own My Life Course because it aims to enable women to take back ownership of their lives from the abuser.  It goes beyond the what and why of abuse, to give women space to critique their environment and consider women's rights throughout history.

Healing Together Programme-Mothers learn about how the body and brain can work together to help us feel safe and calm. Originally written for children and young people we deliver the programme for mothers so they can support their own and their children’s healing.

Creative Activities that enhance our programme delivery and chosen by beneficiaries include art classes; mindfulness  book club; and walk and talk; providing the perfect opportunity to learn new things, build confidence and self-esteem, make new friends, enhance support networks and gain hope, empowerment and inspiration from each other. We also host guest speakers who deliver a range of workshops and webinars.
