Objectives

Warwickshire Search and Rescue provide Volunteer Lowland Search and Rescue services for Warwickshire and West Mercia Police. They are called out to assist the police in searching for High Risk and/or Vulnerable Missing people. They are on call 24/7 and can be called upon to manage any missing person search on behalf of the Police. Often the missing people are suffering from Dementia or maybe depressed and pose a risk to themselves.

Activities

Warwickshire Search and Rescue volunteer team trains to find these people quickly and safely before they come to harm. They also have other resources such as water search and Air Scenting search dogs in training to complement the main search team.  Approximately 2000 people go missing in Warwickshire each year and whilst not all of these people are considered High Risk there is a large number that may need the help of this team.
