“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline”.
Kenilworth foodbank was a project founded by local churches and community groups in Kenilworth in 2012, working together towards stopping hunger in the local area. Warwick and Leamington Foodbank came into existence in July 2013, originally operating under the umbrella of St Paul’s Church in Leamington Spa before becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in April 2015. The two food banks joined together on 1st January 2017 to become Warwick District Foodbank.
Working within Warwick, Leamington & Kenilworth, our vision is for Warwick District to have no need for a Foodbank. Our mission is to provide food & household essentials to those in crisis or living in chronic poverty in our locality. Our values of compassion, justice, community & dignity are at the heart of our organisation. (To download more information on our vision, mission and values please click here.)

Through a network of local referral partners we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in hardship; last year we gave out 9161 emergency food parcels (to April 2023). In addition to helping people by providing emergency food, it is our aim to help people out of poverty. We do this by signposting to other support agencies and providing a kind, empathetic, service to those visiting our foodbank.
