Objectives

We operate to help people who find themselves in poverty and cannot afford food. We offer 3 day food parcels for individuals, and families who are going through a crisis. All beneficiaries are sent by approved referrers.

In this day of Government cut backs and austerity, we find large numbers of individuals and families in dire need and so we at WVFB are here to help.

Activities

We work in a rural setting across 3 towns along the Wansbeck River. We have daily sessions running in Morpeth and Ashington (weekly in Newbiggin), where members of the public can attend sessions to gain access to food. Beneficiaries have to have the relevant paperwork prior to attending from an approved referrer.

We also deliver to some families when they are issued with a 7 or 14 day fulfilment from local organisation NETS.
