We have recently become the official City of Sanctuary group for our area and are currently reaching out to local institutions such as schools, theatres and shops to support them in becoming part of the Sanctuary movement. We lobby the council and work with local politicians and organisations to support refugees and asylum seekers. For example, we are currently campaigning for the council to take in and support as many Afghan refugees as possible. We are also currently helping to support 256 asylum seekers living off £8 a week in local hotels with Care4Calais SW London group.
