Objectives

VOYC will champion and strengthen the informal learning offer of the VCS Children and Young People Organisations in Devon by:

  • Promoting good practice, efficiency and effectiveness of organisations in the VCS working with or for children and young people up to 25 years of age.
  • Providing timely and relevant information and advice in all aspects of work with children and young people.
  • To vigorously represent at all appropriate levels the interests of its members in the furtherance of their work with children and young people.

Activities

VOYC Devon is a well-respected Centre of Excellence for the voluntary and community sector groups that work with and for children and young people. Established in 1964, VOYC is a diverse and rapidly growing membership organisation with both national and local children and young people’s organisations. The membership currently includes 19 network organisations; these include Devon Scouts and Girlguiding, 235 Individual youth and community organisations that work with and for young people and 51 affiliates. All these together support a network of just over 2500 children and young people’s settings.

VOYC Devon supports frontline Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Organisations, to develop, coordinate, represent and promote front line organisations, thus enabling them to deliver their missions more effectively.
