Objectives

Each year over 600 community groups are supported to engage volunteers and each year over 4000 local people are signposted to volunteer in these groups.  Independent research of our work with the Job Centre found that of 500 unemployed we supported into volunteering, 100 left benefits a or started work as a direct result of volunteering.  What’s more they continued volunteering after starting work and volunteered on average for three hours a week!

Activities

We are a NCVO Community Beacon, only one of two centres in the country with this exemplar status.  We are the voluntary sector lead on the People Can Make a Difference volunteering campaign adopted by all the key agencies in Bradford from health to fire services.  We are accredited by NCVO.
