Objectives

Volunteer Uttlesford was established in 1995 to support the community of Uttlesford, which is the largest geographical district in Essex, and the most rural

Volunteer Uttlesford has three main roles:

  1. to enable people wanting to volunteer to find suitable opportunities and to support them
  2. to help local voluntary and statutory organisations to find volunteers
  3. to promote the ethos of volunteering locally, providing a centre of information on all aspects of volunteering

Activities

We work hard to bring volunteers and the people that need them together for advice, guidance and support. We think of it as ‘community glue’.

Become a volunteer: Volunteering can make a real difference to your own life and the lives of others. You might want to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. Volunteering will both challenge and reward you.

Find a volunteer: Volunteer Uttlesford is a local organisation that provides support to volunteers and the organisations that provide opportunities. If you are looking for an opportunity in your local area, we are an ideal place to start.

Projects: Volunteer Uttlesford is actively pursuing several projects in which volunteers are helping serve their local communities. These include our ‘Time Bank’, voluntary opportunities for young people, employee volunteering and promoting voluntary work to children to create the next generation of volunteers. We also have short-term volunteering opportunities for professional specialists and a special scheme to help people with their gardens.
