Objectives

We are a Bath-based charity founded in 2014 by women who had experience of Domestic Abuse. We provide early help, peer support and recovery programmes for local people affected by Domestic Abuse and coercive control. VOICES provides training and consultation opportunities for the voices of those with lived experience of domestic abuse to inform and improve policy and service provision.

Activities

What we do:

  • Provide community-based early help, recovery and empowerment programmes for women with experience of domestic abuse: The Freedom Programme, Recovery Toolkit and MATES Social Group.
  • Provide a therapeutic and welcoming space for survivors to meet and support one another.
  • Provide 1 to 1 advice and specialist counselling.
  • Provide a free legal clinic
  • Offer bespoke training and consultation based on survivor insights, to professionals and organisations.
  • Raise awareness of the nature and impacts of domestic abuse, and of the needs of survivors and their families.
