Vision Fountain have been involved in community projects with museums, schools and community centres, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council Wales and others.We work with marginalized communities. The communities may be marginalized through economic and social depravation, geographical isolation. We work with people of all ages but our work is mostly focused on young people from primary school to youths.
We have worked in isolated areas of the South Wales, ex-port areas and youths from Inner City Birmingham.
Our primary objective is to increase well-being, life chances and confidence especially amongst young people from marginalized communities, through digital arts and heritage based interventions.
Our work involves workshops, with arts digital audio-visual techniques, including voice recording, 3D model-making and virtual reality (VR). Projects often involve the production of a digital audio-visual outcome /exhibition that the community has agency in producing. We aim to empower the people we work with by up-skilling them, especially with regard to gaming technology, and by giving them ownership of the work they help produce.
We have held workshops in over a dozens of schools, several museums and community spaces for people aged from 7 to 87.
Projects have formed part of permanent and temporary exhibits at museums and galleries including; Museum of Wales (Amgeuddfa Cymru), The British Motor Museum and The Senedd (Welsh Parliament).
Our project "Last Generation of Coalminers" was one of 5 shortlisted at Heritage Awards 2023.
We largely seek funding for our projects from bodies such as Arts Council & National Lottery Heritage Fund for specific projects. All projects are evaluated.
We are also seeking funding for R+D projects that will enable marginalised communities to have access to immersive technology (XR).
We would like to increase traded income by offering services and taking on commissions.
