In order to realise the vision set out above, Inspired Community Enterprise Trust Ltd (ICET), based in Dumfries, has developed an inclusive skills academy, delivering accessible, adapted SVQ qualifications and employability training in hospitality for young people with additional support needs. Training and qualifications are offered through its social enterprise cafe and events business “The Usual Place”.
ICET’s approach has brought exceptional results for its young graduates. Many have secured employment, while others have set up their own businesses providing purpose and fulfilment as well as learning transferrable life skills enabling independent living.
